We were very busy bees in the Chestnut Class today. We learned about the history and origins of Pancake Tuesday and how different countries celebrate it differently. We also learned how to write a recipe and what was important to include (name of the dish, ingredients needed, steps to make it). We then wrote a whole class recipe for pancakes and we each drew pictures of our own step by step instructions and practiced our handwriting by writing in the ingredients needed. We also practiced using the words ingredients, mix, weigh, whisk, and steps.
Some of us really enjoyed the pancakes.....some not so much. Some of us had high expectations which we could not meet unfortunately. Eoin was all out of whipped cream, strawberries and chocolate sauce. 🤷♂️ Here are some pictures of our day!
