Ash Class have had lots of fun creating different art pieces based on weather. We made cloud dough using cornflour and conditioner (2 1/2 cups cornflour to one cup of conditioner). We used the dough to make clouds and rain drops. At the creative table we made sunshines using paper plates and a hole puncher. We threaded pipe cleaners in through the holes and twisted them to make the rays of sunshine. We also used pipettes and blue water colour paint to make rain pictures. We used cotton wool for the clouds. Take a look at some of our fabulous work below.
Due to us viewing the Winter Performances today, there is no Student of the Week. But congratulations to the Red Table who got Table of the Week this week! Great work Red Table!
The rehearsal for our Winter Performance went great today! We can't wait to show you the finished result. We are recording tomorrow so don't forget your white t-shirts and scarves! We will share the finished video with you sometime next week when they've all been completed.
Our Aistear for December is all about weather! We are weather reporting, making rainy day art, playing with a small world Arctic scene and building a winter wonderland town!
Our Aistear theme this month is on Weather. Last week in preparation we visited the weather station at school. We checked the temperature, wind, rainfall and cloud cover. When we arrived back into class we recorded our findings on a data sheet. Next we presented the weather to the class and gave advice as to what clothes we should wear in this weather.
The class were really excited to begin exploring weather in our different Aistear stations today. Take a look at what we got up to today. Congratulations to our Student of the Week and our Table of the Week! A few weeks ago another table won Table of the Week but we didn't have time to take a picture. I've been reminded daily about that since and today I finally remembered to take the picture!
Today we have been pretending to be weather forecasters on tv! We've been learning all of our weather words and today we put them into action by going on tv and telling everyone the weather! We can't wait to do more of it next week!
