Great effort Purple table. We had lots of fun today for dress-up day. Check out some of our costumes below. Finally a big thank you to all students in Ash Class for a great half term at school, we have had so much fun. We hope you have a great week off and we look forward to more fun and learning in November. Stay Safe and remember to be kind! We made hedgehogs using clay in the Chestnut Class today! We learned about hedgehogs last week and where they like to live. Today we used clay and matchsticks to create our own little pet hedgehogs!
Maths WeekFor Maths Week Junior Infants took part in an online entertaining story-based sessions. The sessions were designed to get the children excited about a story while sneakily convincing them to explore problem solving within the context of a story. The focus was mainly about exposing ideas and concepts and giving the children a chance to experiment. The class really enjoyed it. We also played Happy Faces and had fun making patterns.
Dear parents,
We will be starting Relationship and Sexuality education for the month of November. This is a really important part of the children's SPHE curriculum. We have attached home school links that outline what will be covered in these lessons as well as possible discussions to have with them. If you have any questions or concerns after reading through, get in contact with the class teacher. Regards, Siobhán & Eoin [email protected] [email protected] This week we have been listening to the rhyme 5 Little Pumpkins. We visited the Geodome to see a giant pumpkin. We counted 3 pumpkins there and had a look at some other vegetables growing in the Geodome like tomatoes and peppers. We had to guess how heavy the biggest pumpkin was. We guessed numbers from 5-10. If we win we get to take the pumpkin home.
Back in the classroom we made our very own pumpkins to add to our Autumn board. How much do you think the giant pumpkin weighs in kg? Leave your guesses in the comments below! Today was all about patterns in the Chestnut Class! We are practicing making patterns using 2 colours and were using lots of different materials to make our patterns.
Ash Class had a very busy week last week. During Aistear play we explored the kitchen and the dining room in the role-play corner, we made houses for incy wincy spider and our other favourite Nursery rhyme characters. We played I-Spy with markers to find different houses people live in.
We visited the Mobile Library and got to pick our own books to read for story time and DEAR time. We went to visit the Birch Class on DLD day and got our photos beside the balloons. On Friday during Golden Time we even got the iPad and took turns to take photos of our friends. Congratualtions to Ahmed who was our Student of the Week and the Orange Table for Table of the Week! Stay tuned for more updates from Ash Class this week :) Congratulations to the Blue Table who won Table of the Week this week! They won the award for amazing group work, for getting organised really quickly after eating, and for great listening!
Today we started using all the leaves we gathered in the forest school! We used glue and the leaves to make our hedgehogs look all spikey! We will share pictures of them next week when they're all dry!
