"And all at once, summer collapsed into Fall" Oscar Wilde With Autumn creeping in we had a class discussion on seasons today. We identified that we are in the season of Autumn and brainstormed signs of Autumn. With our coats on and our investigative skills at the ready, we left the classroom and visited the Forest school for the first time. It was a great adventure. We had to take care and make sure we stayed in our line and listen to the teacher especially when we crossed the road. While there, we sang number songs and found lots of signs of Autumn. We brought back some items such as leaves, twigs and feathers to the classroom and had a look at them under the visualizer. Finally, we got our crayon and drew pictures of the different items we have found. We are creating an Autumn table in the classroom. Feel free to bring in signs of Autumn you find at home to add to our table!

Our focus this week has been on developing our mark making skills and exploring different ways we can make marks without knowing how to write letters or words. Take a look at our work below. We are all so proud of our work.
Congratulations to Mohamed who is our Student of the Week this week and to the Blue Table who are our Table of the Week this week. Next week we look forward to learning all about our families! Have a great weekend everyone. Today Ash Class participated in a squiggle while you wiggle session. We practiced some movements reach up, down, turning our body to the sides and crossing our arms in front of our body. Next we paired the movements with music. Finally, we got two crayons each and got down on the ground to draw the movements on paper. We played music and had a great squiggle while we wiggled!
Voting stations opened early today in Ash Class as there were lots of students ready to vote for our committees. Everyone got to nominate themselves for the committee they would like to be on. We took turns to come up and vote at our voting station.
The results are in: Green School - Chloe Forest School- Oliver Student Council- Razvan Active School- Jaxson Congratulations to our newly elected committee members. A huge congratulations to Hamda who is our student of the week this week and the the yellow table who are our table of the week. The yellow table worked really hard together this week, sharing, taking turns and working together to sequence the story Owl Babies. Congratulations to all and have a great weekend A huge congratulations to all the boys and girls who were voted in today to our 4 different committees. We've spoken a lot about feelings today and how it feels to win but also how it feels to lose. We've spoken about all the things that we're really good at and how not winning all the time is ok!
We got some amazing posters in today for our elections! We're really excited and will share the results as soon as we can!
The Chestnut class got to visit the mobile library for the first time today! We went outside and got to choose our own book. Then instead of our normal story at the end of the day, we got to read our own books! We'll visit the library roughly every 2 weeks and change our books. We'll keep the books in our drawers in school so they're easy to keep track of!
