In the Chestnut Class we've been learning about the different parts of a flower and what each part does to help the flower grow! We've been using the words roots, stem, leaves and petals. Today we worked together to draw a picture and labelled all the parts. Then we went back to our tables and drew our own. Lots of us also did an amazing job labeling our picture! We hope you like them.
Chestnut Class has been working hard in their new groups at an art project! We went outside and looked at the different parts of our school garden. We then painted our own garden on a large piece of paper. After, we went outside and gathered different flowers, leaves, grass etc. We stuck these down onto our summer gardens. Tomorrow we are going to make some symmetrical butterflies that we can add to our gardens! We hope you like them :) Red Table Blue Table Yellow Table Purple Table Green Table
Today we made the most of the sunshine and planned lots of fun activities that we could do outside! The first thing we did was a nature treasure hunt! We wrote up our plan and talked about what we might look for. We then got into pairs and went outside to explore and find things that were green, beautiful, straight, fluffy, round, yellow, smooth, and rough! Next we got into our table groups and grabbed a hula hoop. We put them on the ground and worked in our groups to see what nature we could find inside our hoop! We found lots of different plants and flowers but also found lots of different mini-beasts! We found: a grasshopper, an ant, a caterpillar, a bumblebee, a spider, and butterfly, and more small insects!
Here is a short clip to show off some of the activities we got up to today! We're all very tired but have had a fantastic day! ![]() Dear Parents/Guardians, June has arrived and PETNS are having our biggest Pride celebration EVER this year to celebrate the LGBTQ+ community and it's allies. As part of this celebration, we are holding a poster competition! This competition is open to all children in the school and the poster can be any size, using any material and based on one of the following titles: 1. Celebrate your differences! 2. LGBTQ+ by birth, fabulous by choice! 3. Different families, same love. The deadline for entries is Friday June 17th and must have your child's name and class written on the back. There will be a number of winners who will receive some special prizes! Stay tuned for lots more exciting and colourful Pride events to come! We made the most of the sunny weather last week and got out for a picnic! Hopefully we'll be able to do this a lot more in July! 🤞
This week we've been learning about the capital city of China - Beijing! We've learned about it's population, currency and looked at lots of pictures. Then we made our own Beijing skyline. First we painted the sky, then we made buildings using black paper and oil pastels, then we put them all together. We hope you like our work!
